Same As Sister (S.A.S.) will premiere their newest work, Kallax, as part of Women in Motion NYC’s 2019-20 Season at Gibney.

Against the recognizable yet anonymous backdrop of an IKEA store, the young indigenous Sámi recording artist of Kallax, performed by Kristina Hay, will go on a journey of ascent into American celebrity. Joined by the supporting cast of Leigh Atwell, Briana Brown-Tipley, Hilary Brown-Istrefi, and Jamie Robinson, she will encounter the aspirations, expectations, fears, and consumptions of our contemporary society.

The performances are the culmination of WiM’s Commissioning Program, and will also feature works by choreographers, asubtout (Katy Pyle + Eleanor Hullihan) and Rebecca Stenn.
